What Do I Need Before Installing My B100, B300, or B330?
To get started, make sure you have the following:
VHF Antenna & Cable
A VHF antenna tuned to 162 MHz is required for AIS transmit/receive.
Use RG-58 or RG-8X cables for short runs; RG-213 for longer distances.
Connector type: SO-239 (mates with PL-259).
Power Cable
Comes with a 2m power/data cable.
If extending, ensure the cable handles up to 2A peak / 200mA average.
Chartplotter Connection
Connect the AIS to your chartplotter using NMEA 0183 at 38,400 baud (may be listed as “NMEA HS”).
Enable AIS target display in chart settings.
Or, for NMEA2000 setups, connect the AIS via a compatible NMEA2000 cable (ask your dealer for options).
